Are you a member of a community and want to learn methods to support each other through interpersonal frictions – transforming disagreements into opportunities for improving our communities’ foundations and enabling joyful, authentic engagement? Why: This workshop is arranged by a group of volunteers in Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus who have invited GenopretKBH to sow a seed of restorative and transformative justice practices in our local communities. Our wish is to empower our local communities by studying and practicing alternatives to harmful norms of conflict-avoidant or punitive behaviours. While there are many approaches and tools for handling conflicts, we felt that the values of transformative justice, which approaches conflict as an opportunity for radical community care, proactively protecting and healing each other, are most in line with our activism in Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke.
What: We’ll come together to explore, practise, and be inspired, working with tools that can support us in engaging with conflict and caring for what unfolds between us.
This is a participatory workshop, and it depends on everyone’s active engagement. While members of Genopret KBH will offer perspectives and share tools throughout the day, the intention is that we practise, learn, and reflect together—building on the experiences and resources each of us brings into the space.

-Introduction to conflict cultures: punitive, restorative, and transformative
-Exercise: Sharing and listening to experiences of ongoing conflict
