Calling all Home Ed families!! Come join Mimi, Lady of the Woods and team for a fun-filled day of wild bushcraft, nature crafts, wild cooking, and wildlife conservation.
At Community Forest School, we embrace the Forest School ethos—project-based learning and outdoor exploration and lots of PLAY driven by the discovery, curiosity and interests of the children. Our sessions are very relaxed there’s no strict structure here; instead, we follow the flow of the day and the wonder of the natural world, letting the children take the lead at their own pace as they discover, learn, and grow in confidence in a supportive loving and safe environment. Whether we’re building shelters to stay dry, stoking the campfire to stay warm, or cooking seasonal feasts over the fire, everything we do is designed to foster independence, inspire creativity, problem solving, teamwork, resilience, and a strong connection to the natural world.
We love to explore the wild beauty of Littleworth Common at these sessions from foraging for gorse, nettles, and other wild edibles, searching for fungi, and discovering new wildlife around the ponds. Every activity is an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with nature in a meaningful way, strengthening both mind and body. 🌿✨
What to Bring:
• Mugs, bowls, plates, and cutlery for you to enjoy the delicious food!
• Weather-appropriate clothing: extra layers inc woodl and fleece, snowboots, or wellies with extra socks, waterproofs, gloves, hats, and long sleeves for warmer weather.
Weather Info: Shelters will be set up for light rain. If severe weather (thunderstorms or winds over 42mph) is forecasted, we’ll notify you the day before on the WhatsApp group.
