James Church hosts an evening with Broadway star Kim Criswell, who will share a personal selection of songs from the Classic American Songbook. You can expect famous, infamous, and rediscovered songs by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill, Harold Arlen, and Leonard Bernstein.Kim’s critically acclaimed theatre career has taken her from Broadway (3 Penny Opera opposite Sting & the original cast of Nine) to the West End (Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun) via LA (the original Grizabella in the LA production of Cats) and Europe (The Old Lady in Candide at La Scala and the Théâtre du Châtelet)
Kim is well-known for her over forty albums (including four solo albums) and for her symphonic performances with many of the world's greatest conductors, including John Wilson, Sir Simon Rattle, Marin Alsop, and Carl Davis. She has performed all over the world, from the BBC Proms (four times) and Buckingham Palace (London), to La Fenice (Venice), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Carnegie Hall (New York), Ravello Festival (Italy), and the Odeon of Herodes (Athens).
With conductor John Wilson, she has explored the world of film music across the UK in concert, including the popular MGM and Rodgers and Hammerstein Proms.
