The garden has been managed for more than 50 years and has served as a secluded patch of green space for neighbors and visitors alike. Given its age and the gardening practices of its time, it contains many nonnative plants and nonnative invasives. Baltimore Green Space and the garden's site managers are working on transforming the space into a more ecologically sustainable planting that includes primarily native plants through the help of grant funding and neighborhood stewardship.
