🌻 Community Farming Festival Day 🌻
Join us for a fun-filled day celebrating all things vegetables! Whether you're a green thumb or just here for the community resilience, there's something for everyone. Expect hands-on activities, tasty lunch from the land, and loads of chances to connect with fellow community members. Bring your friends, your kids, your smile, and get ready to dig into some awesome outdoor fun! Can't wait to see you there!
Activities will be;
- Farm tour
- Community feast
- Preparing veg beds
- Putting up trellis and planting beans
- Planting out lettuce, beetroot and brassicas plugs
- Sowing carrots and parsnips
- Thinning apples in the orchard just after fruit set
The event is open to all and we are designing the day to be family friendly. Through our team of qualified co-ordinators and volunteers we will offer individuals the opportunity to set their own pace whilst enjoying this earthy experience. Both qualified Well-being and child care specialists will be present and part of the farm team on the day as well as skilled growers and chefs cooking us delicious treats.
The day will likely follow our routine pattern of;
- 9.15am arrive
- 9.30am cuppa and catch-up, in this case it will be ‘Welcome and Introduction’, If people wish we could then take a little tour around the farm
- 10.00am morning activity
- 12.30pm lunch ( will be based on vegetables grown from the farm by our skilled chefs and volunteers)
- 1.30pm afternoon activity
- 3.30pm tea and coming together for end of day and reflection
