Kelly Burns was hired as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Ashland, Oregon in February, 2023. Kelly formerly worked as a Battalion Chief/EMT-Paramedic for the City of Ashland with Ashland Fire & Rescue for over 31 years.
Kelly began his public service career in June of 1990 in the fire service, which was thought to be “temporary.” During his service with AF&R, Kelly was the initial incident commander for the September 2020 Almeda Wildfire Disaster, and has fought other significant wildfires throughout Oregon and California.
Kelly is active year-round and deeply appreciates life in the Pacific Northwest. He is the proud father of two exceptionally smart and talented daughters, whom he loves dearly.
