Kingston Community Resilience Group invites you to the Community Hub Open Day at the Golf Clubhouse.Come and experience what our Community Hub would look and feel like during an emergency — before we ever need to use it for real.
This is a chance for the whole community to:
• See how the hub would operate during a major event or emergency
• Meet the local volunteers and organisations involved in emergency response
• Learn what the Community Resilience Group does — and what support the hub can provide
• Understand how you and your household can be better prepared
• Find out what should go in a Grab & Go bag
• Ask questions and connect with your community
There’ll be:
🍲 Complimentary hot soup
🎲 Games and giveaways for all ages
🚒 Representatives from other emergency response groups
🎒 Grab & Go bag examples and preparedness information
At 2pm, Emergency Otago adviser Craig Gibson and CRG Chairperson Jenny Geelan will give a short talk about community resilience, Get Ready Otago, and how Kingston can work together in the first stages of a significant event.
The goal of this event is simple: if the hub ever needs to open in an emergency, we want everyone to already know what to expect, where to go, and how we can support each other.
Strong communities are built before emergencies happen — and we’d love to see you there.
We are all in this together. Let’s get ready.
