Get to know the Smith Little Torch in this hands-on demo focused on safe use and proper care. Participants will learn how to set up the torch, adjust flame types for different tasks, and use it for precision heating and soldering in small-scale metalwork. We’ll cover essential safety practices, including fuel handling, lighting and shutdown procedures, and workspace setup. The session also includes guidance on routine care, cleaning tips, tip maintenance, and troubleshooting so you can use the torch confidently and keep it in great working condition.

Instructor: Julie Hendrickson
Julie has worked in all types of media and made everything from cob homes to paper. Her enduring favorite, however, is metal. Specifically silver, but she's awful fond of gold too. Julie loves handcrafting special items for special folks in her New England studio. She works with recycled silver and gold, and focuses on using sustainable materials and practices in her solar-powered shop as much as possible.
