About this Event
Our Community Days/ Farmers market take place monthly at Cardiff Met University. This is a great event where you can try delicious local street style foods, listen to music, meet with traders from the Cardiff Met Community and get the opportunity to interact with various areas of the University such as Sustainability Department, Entrepreneurship, Cardiff Council.
W hat you will find:
- Riverside Real Food provide the stalls of their food traders. These are then complimented by other parts of the University.
- F ree Barber and Hairdresser
- Clothes Swaps and Book Swaps (you can bring things you would like to exchange)
- Students from the Centre for Entrepreneurship trade (some for the first time) amongst the market traders and information stalls.
- Local organisations attend such as Refill; Keep Wales Tidy and Warp It providing information stalls.
- Opportunities for students to get involved in volunteering with Student Union Societies and initiatives
- Cardiff Council Waste Management attend providing staff, students and the community with information and support on waste collection arrangements within the local community and provision of recycling and food waste bags and caddies.
- Students’ Union – offer of Volunteering opportunities for students and engagement in Student Union Societies and events. The offer of free sustainable Period products.
- Res Life support for students in Cardiff Met Halls – providing a variety of events.
- Campus awareness - Fairtrade University promotion; Free Green Workshops for staff and students; Student Services Support; Occupational Health Service; Complementary Therapy taster sessions; Re-use – opportunity for staff, students and local community groups to purchase surplus furniture, printers and PC’s with donations to student hardship fund; Residential Life support, Bees on Campus, Community Garden and Natural Dye Garden.
- Showcasing active travel and exercise on Campus, Met rider bus service and Cardiff Met fitness gym membership.

I n line with our Sustainability Ethos, parking spaces are very limited (permit only) and we encourage you to rethink the way you will travel to get to this event. OVO Bikes stands are available and cycle hoops to lock your bikes. The bus station is close by, and a short walk through Bute Park can lead you to our campus.
