● 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.: Learn about preservation projects at Sayward-Wheeler House, working with traditional materials, and careers in the historic trades.
● 11 a.m.–3 p.m.: Enjoy a free guided tour of Sayward-Wheeler House, a landmark of York’s seafaring past.
Whether you’re interested in sustainability, fascinated by traditional trades, or simply want to explore this historic waterfront home and its grounds, Community Day offers something for everyone.

Accessibility Considerations: Tour involves standing, walking, and stairs. Visitors with limited mobility may be able to enjoy a first-floor tour of the house and grounds. Folding chairs are provided for visitors who would like to use them while on tour. The site is not equipped with ramps, elevators, or lifts and there is no air-conditioning. Service animals are welcome. We are happy to work with you to make your visit an enjoyable one and we encourage visitors with questions or requests to call ahead.
Transportation and Parking: Street parking is available along Barrell Lane Extension. Parking is limited; we encourage visitors to walk or bike.Sayward-Wheeler House can be reached via the Fisherman’s Walk.
