Community Crochet ProjectThe Community Crochet Project is the next iteration of an ongoing project that has been developing since early 2023. Jade Lees-Pavey has crocheted over 800 granny squares and has a vision for a community project that brings people together to gently progress the idea to achieve the creation of a very large blanket, which will become the focal point of a final community activation event. The project has an open timeline, no end date has been imagined yet and progress will be determined by the available labour of participants.
The first community gathering will be at the Oak Hill Gallery Art Market on Sunday 23rd February 10 – 2pm. You are welcome to come along and participate by joining in with the granny square crocheting or to simply join in the conversations. If you have any yarn to donate, please bring it along.
