We warmly invite you to come to our Community Cafe and Music Jam, which will be running on Wednesday mornings in the St Laurence Church Hall.During January we will have Hannah Robson teaching some songs during the cafe each week from 17th Jan, 10.30-11.15
And our craft area will be back up and running with our regular Crafters who like to make teddy bears, needle felt animals and do knitting and crochet. They are very friendly and would love to teach you a stitch or two if you are less confident.
Come for a pay-as-you-feel tea and slice of cake, get out of the house with the little ones, bring a friend for a game of cards, meet a stranger over your crochet, come and work in the warm and get that new job applied for.
We are open as a Warm Space throughout the winter so if you fancy a few hours away from your home to help save on heating costs, or are in need of some company then you are welcome here. You don't need to buy anything and we run a pay as you can cafe and will never be turned away for lack of funds.
Teas and coffees
Cakes and Snacks
Toys for younger children,
Board games and card games,
Charging stations for phones and Laptops,
Space for Jam Sessions.
We'll be open throughout the warmer months too and once we're set up we'll be introducing soup lunches, craft activities, chatty cafes and a digital hub to offer support for anyone who needs help online or with a job application.
Well-behaved and house-trained dogs on leads are welcome if they are friendly with all humans small and big, and with other dogs.
VOLUNTEERING
We're also looking for volunteers to help make teas and coffees, set up the space, do the odd bit of washing up and generally be a warm presence to chat to people in the space. If you feel that you could give a few hours once in a while then get in touch.
