Doors open at 4:30pm with light refreshments. The event begins at 5:30pm. This is a FREE public event. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
There is growing proof that our zip code can better determine our health than our own DNA. Factors such as social connections, financial security, and lack of resources can prevent a person from reaching their best health—with racism and classism as the major barriers.
While policy and systems change are long term solutions, more attention can be given to grassroots strategies. That is why we are highlighting local efforts that demonstrate the resiliency and strength of community power-building in achieving health equity.
Erika Anthony, Executive Director of Cleveland VOTES, along with other local grassroots community leaders, and the Saint Luke’s Foundation’s Resident Action Committee member will share how they elevate the voices of the collective community. Additionally, they will share recent grassroots movements and strategies used to address health disparities and build stronger neighborhoods.
The City Club will bring the conversation directly to the community at the Morning Star Baptist Church, in partnership with the Saint Luke's Foundation for their 25th anniversary.
The livestream will be available beginning at 5:30p.m. Have questions? Tweet them at @TheCityClub or send a text to 330.541.5794.
