First Event in the 2026 Community Engagement Series
Join us at the Racine Public Library for the first program in the 2026 Community Engagement Series. Drummer and educator Tim Wilsey will lead a one‑hour session tracing how Delta Blues traditions moved north during the early 20th century. The talk covers the migration of Southern musicians, the role of Paramount Records in Grafton, and the later transition into the Chicago Blues style.
Throughout the program, Wilsey will play short musical examples to show how the sound changed as musicians traveled, recorded, and adapted to new settings. The session blends clear historical explanation with live demonstration.
