"Listening to the Spirit of the Land: Life Lessons from the Native Way" with acclaimed author Kent Nerburn
Join us for a powerful and thought-provoking evening with Kent Nerburn, renowned author, spiritual teacher, and respected voice on Native American culture and spirituality. In this special presentation, Listening to the Spirit of the Land: Life Lessons from the Native Way, Kent draws on nearly 30 years of living and working in Native communities to share timeless insights and teachings from the First Peoples of this land.
Guided by the wisdom of a Shoshone Elder who once said, “Do not begrudge the white man his presence on this land. Though he doesn’t know it yet, he came here to learn from us,” Kent explores what that learning can look like—and how it might help shape a more thoughtful, compassionate, and spiritually grounded future for us all.
About the Author:
Kent Nerburn holds a Ph.D. with distinction in Religion and Art from the Graduate Theological Union in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of 17 books on spirituality and Native American subjects, including the award-winning trilogy "Neither Wolf nor Dog", "The Wolf at Twilight", and "The Girl Who Sang to the Buffalo". His latest work, "Lone Dog Road", brings together decades of insight in what he calls his “elder book.”
Kent’s work has been featured on PBS, The History Channel, and C-SPAN, and is widely used in educational institutions across the globe. He has been praised as “one of America’s living spiritual teachers” and “one of the few writers who can respectfully bridge the gap between Native and non-Native cultures.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the wisdom of a remarkable storyteller and spiritual guide.
Free and open to the public.
