The Community Appreciation Awards is our opportunity to honor LWR residents who have made a meaningful impact—both in the broader Lakewood Ranch community and within our organization over the years. It’s a celebration of their dedication, volunteerism, and the ways they make our community stronger, kinder, and more vibrant.
As we celebrate 25 years of connecting community, this year’s awards are extra special, highlighting not only the incredible residents who make a difference but also the milestone of our organization’s 25-year journey of fostering connection, engagement, and community spirit.
The Awards include:
- Jerry Hufford Salute to Service Award, honoring a former veteran, firefighter, police officer, or military member whose ongoing service positively impacts the community.
- Francis Shea Spirit of LWR Award, honoring someone who embodies the energy, positivity, and community spirit that make Lakewood Ranch special.
- Leroy Smith LWRCA Volunteer of the Year Award, honoring an individual who has contributed most to LWRCA programs and initiatives this past year.
- Don O’Leary Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring a lifelong contributor who has made a lasting impact on the community through years of dedicated service.
- Rookie of the Year Award, honoring someone new to volunteering, club leadership, or program participation with LWRCA whose involvement has made a significant impact on our community.
- Lifestyle Director of the Year Award, honoring a Lifestyle Director who has gone above and beyond to create engaging programs and enhance community life.
- Community Manager of the Year Award, honoring a Community Manager whose leadership and dedication have strengthened the community and enriched resident experiences.
- Community Volunteer of the Year Award, honoring a community member who goes above and beyond, whether serving on a board, leading a club, or supporting local initiatives.
- LWRCA Group/Club of the Year Award, honoring a club or group that has made a meaningful impact through philanthropy, community service, and social engagement in Lakewood Ranch.
