Bring your an animal (or picture of an animal) that you would like to have blessed. Also bring camp chairs to sit. We will have songs and prayers and a short homily and each animal will be called forward while their story is shared, then they are blessed by Rev. Scott Elliott (who has done many animal blessings). There's no fee or membership of belief requirement. Adults, Children, Families and all manner of Animals (under control of their family) are welcome. GUIDELINES FOR ANIMAL BLESSING SUNDAY
Ten Creature Care and Courtesy Commandments
1. Thou shall not let thy pet run amok
2. Thou shall bring forward but one animal or animal picture at a time (per person)
3. Thou shall keep thy animal in the shade, and make sure they have water to quench thirst, but thou shall not allow quenching of hunger upon any living thing in attendance.
4. Thou shall have thy animal leashed or in a carrier.
5. Thou shall guide thy pet to designated toileting areas and properly clean up whatever they shall droppest.
6. Thou shall be responsible for thy pet at all times and not allow altercations with other beasts, be the human, furry, feathery, harry, scaly or bald.
7. Thou shall be especially cautious around children and be aware children can be terrified by even friendly and small animals.
8. Thy shall be responsible for thy animal and for thy animal being courteous toward others.
9. Thou shall not bite, nip, claw, kick, buck, sting, constrict, gnaw, spit, scratch nor eat the pastor, liturgist, musician or other gathered humans or critters.
10. Thou shall endeavor to have fun and enjoy the service and thy fellow animals and be thankful to thy Creator.
