Community Acupuncture & Sound Medicine

Peace Collective invites you to experience the many benefits of ear acupuncture. Developed in the 1970s, ear acupuncture has a multitude of uses including support for stress, mental health, addiction recovery, trauma, and pain. Community acupuncture allows us to regulate our nervous systems together, so we may create new connections for ourselves and our world.

After a brief introduction and sign in's, this wellness event with begin with a short guided meditiation. Acupuncture will then be administered and participants will have the opportunity to relax with needles for up to 40 minutes. This ear acupuncture meditation will be accompanied by sound medicine by Andrea Cortez from Mind Body Music Center. (please see bio below). We also offer non-needle alternatives. Please feel free to bring a yoga mat and/or pillows if you'd like to relax on the ground- we usually administer acupuncture in a seating position but we're happy to offer alternatives for folks.

Andrea Cortez, MM, MT-BC, is a board certified music therapist and holds a masters degree in Music Therapy with an emphasis in neurologic rehabilitation through music. She is a harpist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and sound meditation teacher dedicated to creating restorative listening spaces that enhance the health and wellbeing of others. Andrea’s work is at the intersection of performance art, sound therapy, and sound meditation. Deeply inspired by nature, Andrea explores the relationship between music and the natural world. Her mission is to offer restorative ways to connect to sound and nature through deep listening not only to raise awareness within our natural environments but to cultivate our own inner wellness.
