Jakarta, the big durian
They call Jakarta the Big Durian because, like the fruit, it’s full of complex smells and tastes that take some time to appreciate. But once you do, you’ll keep coming back.
Jakarta has everything – from gritty neighborhoods to upscale areas, and from run-down yet friendly street cafes to luxurious shopping malls. The people are creative, kind, and open-minded, hailing from all over Indonesia. With the MRT, exploring the city has become easier. Plus, the flight from Singapore to Jakarta is one of the shortest and most affordable.
We’ll share our favorite neighborhoods and invite you to share your Jakarta stories too.
