🏃♂️🏃🏾🏃🏻♀️ A popular local race for runners of all abilities - recreational runners, club runners and Swindon’s elite runners. Our aim is to be a friendly race for all abilities and to be as inclusive as our course safely permits – we welcome buggies and guided runners but ask that you check out the route and contact us before entering.
The Commonweal 5 Mile was established in 2012 and all money raised from the event supports The Commonweal School as part of the PTAs fundraising events.
It is a chip timed race along a scenic course that has a sting in its tail…!
Starting (and finishing) on the school playing field, the route descends along paths and quiet residential streets from Old Town to a flat middle section along paths past Hall and Woodhouse and Waitrose supermarket. After passing the lakes and canal in Wichelstowe the final section of the route involves a steady climb back up to Old Town.
All runners will receive a medal, made possible by South West Mortgages, with the option to pay and extra £3 for a T-Shirt sponsored by local Estate Agent Richard James.
