NEW for March: From 1-2pm masks will be required (we’ll have them on hand) and from 2-3pm masks will be optional. Please shop during the time that is most comfortable to you. Thank you for keeping each other safe!
What to expect:
- We’re fully stocked with clothes for chilly + spring weather, Julie (emergency contraceptive), condoms + dental dams, and other bits and bobs.
- There will be changing stations to try items on and two gender-neutral bathrooms.
- Our kind and gentle crew can help you navigate the space + purchase any gender affirming products you may need.
During the event, connect with others for support:
*Max the Doula - binder fittings + transition support
*Landon - a community health worker with all the resources
*Kaitlyn - ready for any alternations you may need
*Marlú - spilling all the tea in our coloring corner
We always enthusiastically welcome trans, non-binary, queer folks and our affirming friends of all races, sizes, and abilities to explore/find adult clothing that is gender-affirming and brings joy.
This is a mutual aid project, it is not charity. Everything at the pop up is free - take as much or as little as you want. If you have access to money, all financial donations are used to purchase items for folks. We do not accept clothing donations on pop up days - our next clothing drive is March 15.
How to find us: Park Fair Mall 100 E Euclid Ave, Suite 107 = park between Ace Hardware and the Home Furnishings Store. Use the main entrance between those stores and head down the elevator or stairs to suite 107 (home of Central Iowa Center for Independent Living (CICIL)). Follow the signs.
We are community-led, by the people for the people. Thanks to everyone who donates clothes, picks up and sorts clothes, and supports the pop ups. Check out the link to get involved: https://linktr.ee/commonlovedsm
