Christopher Chung
CEO, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina
In 2015, Christopher joined the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) as Chief Executive Officer and brought nearly 25 years of state-level economic development experience to his role.
As a public-private partnership, the EDPNC leads several economic development functions on behalf of the State of North Carolina. These include new business recruitment, existing business support, export assistance, small business counseling, and tourism and film promotion. Since 2015, the EDPNC has helped North Carolina win more than 1,000 corporate expansion projects, resulting in nearly 133,000 announced new jobs and more than $35 billion in announced new investment across the state.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and Japanese from The Ohio State University.
Nick Leverett
Director of Market Analytics
CoStar Analytics
Nick Leverett is the Director of Market Analytics at CoStar and Homes.com. Nick analyzes data and trends to provide insight into the commercial and residential real estate markets in Raleigh, Durham, Richmond, and the Piedmont Triad. On the residential side, he provides insights into home prices, inventory levels, and rental conditions.
Nick’s 20 years of real estate experience include leading the market research team at the real estate investment firm Dilweg, where his research informed decisions on over $380 million in acquisitions, and advising clients on commercial real estate transactions as a practicing attorney. Nick is a regular speaker at key industry events, and his research and analysis have been featured in numerous media outlets, including The News & Observer, the Triangle Business Journal, and Axios Richmond.
Nick holds a Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University.
Steven Beattie
President and COO
Dewitt Carolinas
Steven Beattie serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Dewitt Carolinas, where he leads the company’s strategic growth, oversees execution of its development pipeline, and drives operational performance across the organization.
Steven began his career at Dewitt as Director of Pre-Development, where he led and coordinated all aspects of development, including entitlements, design, budgeting, and construction. Since transitioning to the development side in 2016, he has overseen the completion of more than $600 million in real estate projects, including approximately 1,400 multifamily units and over 500,000 square feet of office, retail, and medical space. Prior to that, his experience spanned engineering, land planning, surveying, and construction administration across more than 1,500 multifamily units and 1,000 acres of residential, data center, and industrial development.
A notable recent project is 1000 Social. It is a flagship example of delivering a high-quality, mixed-use office environment. The project has been recognized with several notable awards including the 2025 Triangle Business Journal SPACE Award for Best Office Development, the 2025 Building NC Award for Best Commercial Development, and the 2025 Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Commercial Appearance.
Dewitt is currently slated to break ground on approximately 1,500 multifamily and single-family units, with multiple mixed-use projects in planning that continue to advance across North Carolina.
A graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Steven brings more than 15 years of experience across the real estate development and design industries.
