This three-day course covers the training requirements for motor carrier employees who will conduct in-house commercial vehicle inspection and brake tasks. The course covers the detailed process and equipment criteria used during a Level I DOT roadside inspection conducted on drivers and vehicles. Students will also learn how to use and navigate the CVSA Out of Service Criteria, cargo securement requirements, how to properly submit DataQ requests, and all equipment requirements covered in Part 393 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.Day 1 - Students will learn about governing agencies for inspection (FMCSA, CVSA, and NHTSA) as well as logistical requirements and qualifications for vehicle and brake inspectors. Student will also learn the difference between annual inspections and roadside inspections.
Day 2 - Students will learn all required equipment inspection points required by FMCSA regulations and CVSA criteria.
Day 3 - Students will receive practical hands-on inspection training with a truck and trailer.
