Course Description:
Prerequisite: Certified firefighter
employed by fire rescue agency.
PBSC presents Command Academy Class #1. Lead instructors Brian Anderson and Marc Chavers of MDFR have sixty-nine years in the fire service with forty-one years as fire officers collectively. They offer valuable insight from the “hot seat” as incident commanders. Command Academy will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to successfully manage emergency incidents.
Course content will include:
Incident size up/Incident type identification
Fundamentals of effective strategies and tactics
Task load/stress management
Decision making processes
Incident commanders work space
Building construction/building systems
High fidelity incident simulation
