About this Event
Part 2 of the Coming Home Strategy Series focuses on one critical question:
Are services in Stockport working for women impacted by the justice system?
This is not a directory exercise. It is a systems-mapping and truth-telling session bringing together lived experience, VCSE organisations, and statutory services to explore the reality of support across the borough.
Together, we will map the intersectional needs of women including housing, trauma, addiction, poverty, family, health, employment, and digital inclusion against the services that exist.
We will identify where support works, where it fails, and where women fall through the gaps.

Systems mapping across Stockport
Identifying services across housing, domestic abuse, health, recovery, employment, and more
Gap analysis
Highlighting where services exist but are inaccessible, ineffective, or absent altogether
Honest discussion on barriers
Including stigma, digital exclusion, commissioning structures, and system limitations
Co-design of better pathways
Reimagining what a truly effective diversion and support model could look like
Why this matters
Women impacted by the justice system rarely experience one issue in isolation. They face multiple, overlapping challenges yet services are often designed in silos.
Despite strong provision across Stockport, women continue to:
Struggle to access housing
Fall through gaps between services
Experience stigma and exclusion
Face barriers to employment and digital participation
This day creates space to ask:
What is missing and what needs to change?
What you’ll leave with
A clearer understanding of the real journeys women take through services
Insight into gaps, duplication, and barriers across the system
Opportunities for collaboration and partnership
Contribution to a shared strategy for improving outcomes in Stockport
