Right now, our biggest focus is expanding our SMART Closets initiative. We are currently in two New Jersey schools, and the response has been incredible. These closets provide free access to essentials like:
🧴 Shampoo & conditioner
🪥 Toothpaste & toothbrushes
🪮 Hair brushes
🧼 Hygiene basics that many families struggle to afford
And we want to bring SMART Closets into more schools. But we cannot do that without your help.
Why This Matters
Across the U.S., nearly 1 in 5 children is raised by a single mother, and single moms head about 86% of single-parent households. Many are working full-time, yet still face the crushing weight of rising costs — rent, groceries, transportation, utilities — all increasing year after year.
Household essentials and hygiene products are not covered by SNAP benefits, and they add up quickly. For a single mom already stretched thin, choosing between gas for work and shampoo for her child is a very real and painful decision.
In both New Jersey and New York, thousands of single-mother households are living paycheck to paycheck. The burden is heavy — but together, we can lighten it.
The Impact of SMART Closets
Our SMART Closets:

✔️ Help children show up to school confident and ready to learn
The schools we currently serve have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback. The closets are being used. They are appreciated. They are making a difference.
