Charles McBee Bio
Charles McBee is a razor-sharp NYC comedian, writer, and unapologetic ’80s/’90s baby from Toledo, Ohio, blending nostalgia with unfiltered truth. Onstage, he mines the absurdities of growing up in a pre-WiFi world—whether it’s the questionable safety of gym class dodgeball, the art of recording songs off the radio without your mom yelling in the background, or surviving dial-up internet. His comedy is as heartfelt as it is hilarious, connecting audiences through the shared chaos of the analog era.
Charles has made three national appearances on Gotham Comedy Live, was a standout on FOX’s Laughs and Punchline (Seasons 1 & 2), and has written for VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, the 2020 VMAs, and the 2021 Golden Globes. Most recently, he served as Head Writer for Comedy Central’s Hell of a Week with Charlamagne Tha God, earning a Writers Guild Award nomination, and worked as a creative consultant on Nick Cannon’s Wild ’N Out.
With a growing online following for his sharp takes on pop culture and politics, Charles brings the same fearless wit to the stage. If you’ve ever feared being “it” in freeze tag, or eaten dinner off a folding tray table, you’ll feel right at home.
