About this Event

COME TOGÄTHER is gathering partners and friends for KURZFILMNACHT / SHORT FILM NIGHT at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta:

Enjoy short films from the German-speaking countries Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, and Germany in the original regional German.
All with English subtitles!

What to Expect:

6:30 PM Reception with Foods and Beverages from the German-speaking countries
7:00 PM Films start

  • Belgium: Das ostbelgische Filmprojekt

What defines us as an individual and as a community? The film covers a community event that brought together 90 residents of East-Belgium who participate in the serendipitous and intense connections. The actress Karen Dahmen directs the group through questions about their identity and diversity.

  • Austria:

When an influencer films her 9-year-old daughter for her instagram, the daughter takes over, locks her out of the house and starts posting disturbing Instagram stories…

  • Switzerland:

The coolness of a morning swim in the river quickly vanishes as the heat covers the city like a magnifying glass under which supposedly trivial everyday nuisances suddenly take on weight. Eli tries to escape the narrowness and agitation of the city, yet keeps on facing aggression. And her rage starts to build up.

  • Germany:

After an accident Herman learns that he suffers from the rare Kahnawake syndrome, which causes the lack of the emotion "fear" and whereby he is forced to try out all phobias to become normal again. Cast: Gustav Peter Wöhler, Anke Engelke, and more.
