Join Come To The Table (CTTT) November 09, 2024 for a discussion on OUR SHARED HISTORY How We Became Neighbors. Marin City's story is one of resilience and triumph. This month, CTTT will focus on how the residents of Marin City and people from other areas of Marin County became neighbors.
CTTT will provide a platform for those who lived this story. Their stories will be put into context by the broader historical narrative of African American migration patterns within the United States and Specifically within Marin City.

Mrs. Leoma Thomas a resident of Marin City since the age of six, is the owner of Leoma Family Child Care. Mrs Leoma will highlight stories of her early child hood and her family working in the shipyard. Mrs. Thomas Child Care is still active. She is a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Marin City.
Keith Bell the great-grandson of Daniel Brown, one of Marin County's first Black residents. Daniel Brown came to San Rafael with the Kent family in 1871. Keith Bell grandfather is Walter Brown who's the son of Daniel Brown.
Keith Bell will talk about the documentary he made of Daniel Brown arriving to Marin County by the Kents. A clip of the documentary will be shown.
Tami Bell grew up in Marin City and received a law degree from Hastings School of Law in San Francisco, CA. Tami Bell has rich about the schools he attended in Mill Valley & Sausalito as a youth.
Felicia Gaston, the founder and director of Performing Stars of Marin, will be promoting her book, A Brand New Start....This Is Home. The Story of World War II Marinship and the Legacy of Marin City.
