About this Event

Join us for our 20th Anniversary of Agave Girls at Copita in Sausalito. We’ll be celebrating with our sponsor and one of Mexico’s newest distillers focused on sustainability, Mijenta, on November 13, 2024.

The festivities will be led by the original Agave Girl herself, Joanne Weir, PBS Chef and author of Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails and Bites and it promises to be an incredible evening of great tequila, delicious food, and fabulous fun. Enjoy passed appetizers, a tasting flight of tequila, and a three-course dinner paired with cocktails featuring the wonderful artisanal expressions of Mijenta Tequila.

Mijenta Tequila was founded by three passionate individuals who combined their expertise to create an artisanal, sustainable tequila brand. The team includes ex-Bacardi CEO Mike Dolan, co-founder Juan Coronado, a well-known mixologist, and Ana Maria Romero Mena, one of the first certified tequila tasters (Catadores) in the industry. Together, they developed Mijenta with a focus on quality and sustainability, using only Blue Weber agave from Jalisco’s highlands and committing to eco-friendly practices.

The brand’s name, Mijenta, is inspired by the Spanish phrase “mi gente” (my people), reflecting their dedication to community and social responsibility. Mijenta is also certified as additive-free and operates with a B Corp certification, ensuring transparency and high social and environmental standards.

Debuted in 2004, Joanne Weir's Agave Girls dinner offers women a celebratory environment to enjoy and appreciate the flavors and history of tequila. If you love food, cocktails, and great company, you won't want to miss this fun and enlightening celebration of women, community, and tequila.

The reception with Joanne features passed appetizers and a welcome cocktail beginning at 6pm and the seated dinner starts at 6:30pm. The cost for this event is $125 per person and includes tax, gratuity and Eventbrite fees.

Grab a friend or come make some new ones – but purchase your tickets soon as this event sells out quickly. Click here to purchase your seats to the most festive celebration of agave spirits this side of Jalisco!
