About this Event

is an independent singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Chicago. At a young age, she was greeted by the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Carole King echoing through her musical home. This early introduction to music led her to pursue a degree in Vocal Jazz. Her in-depth studies of the genre led her to naturally blend jazz with other contemporary influences, painting ethereal and impactful soundscapes with her music.

She is often compared to Norah Jones and Rachael Price, but also finds inspiration from artists like Lianne La Havas, Eloise, Madison Cunningham, Bruno Major, and Melody Gardot. Garnering praise as DownBeat Student Music Award recipient and a Luminarts Fellow in Jazz, Pirtle continues the trajectory of her musical journey through collaborations and new music. In 2019, she released her debut EP “Muse,” a collection of songs containing lyrics that are “conceptual and introspective, with each song of hers serving as a tightly-woven meditation on a certain aspect of herself.” - Ryan Rosenberger.

In November 2021, she mesmerized the crowd at her sold-out show at Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, debuting her pandemic inspired and folk influenced single “Lost in a World.” Her latest single “TS4L” (Temporary Season For Love) was released on September 2nd, 2022. Partnering with Emmy nominated producer and guitarist Aaron Day, this neo-soul/pop tune strays from Pirtle’s comfort zone, diving into a world of rebounds and dwindling ideals of love. She is working on her next EP, set to release in May 2024.

Aside from her personal releases, she can be heard on projects by Makena Hartlin, Da$htone, Blindboy & others. When she is not making music, you can find her baking, gardening, hiking, rock climbing, cuddling with her dog Tucker, or volunteering at One Tail at a Time.
