About this Event
Kabir Dalawari is a drummer, composer and educator based in Chicago, Illinois. As a bandleader, Dalawari has showcased his various bands at Chicago's best venues such as: Andy's Jazz Club, Evanston SPACE, California Clipper, Constellation Chicago and many more. As an educator, Dalawari holds faculty positions at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and People's Center for Cultural & Contemporary Arts, where he leads ensemble rehearsals and teaches private lessons. Dalawari's debut album "Awareness" released in March 2022 and continues to receive both national and international acclaim. His second Album "Last Call" is set to release April 2024. Dalawari's artistic vision is to blend traditional Jazz Language with a contemporary approach inspired by his studies on Black American and North Indian music.

Donation:
RSVP is free, there is a suggested donation instead of a ticket price at the door so that Colvin House can pay our talented local artists and continue supporting the performing arts. We ask that you contribute $20/person toward paying the musicians and staff for their efforts in producing these community concerts at the Colvin House.
While we prefer cash donations whenever possible, we also accept Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal. Thank you!

Food & Drink:
We are officially selling food onsite at Colvin House! Guests can order from a rotating menu of appetizer, entree, and dessert options each week.
Please note that we no longer allow outside food at Colvin House.
We do not sell alcoholic beverages. A selection of non-alcoholic beverages is available for purchase, but you're welcome to bring your own beer, wine, etc.

Parking Info:
Colvin House can only provide very limited parking onsite for this event, usually reserved for parkers with disabilities.
The first 20 cars can park FREE at George B. Swift Elementary School, just a block west of Colvin House (as space allows). Please pull up to Colvin House's driveway gate (Thorndale Ave) first to receive a parking permit, which will provide further instructions.
The Malibu Condominiums (6007 N Sheridan) parking garage is under construction and not open for public parking.
We recommend arriving early if you need to park.
