Columbia at a Crossroads: Fish wars, dam removal and climate change
Come behind the scenes with Seattle Times journalists who share their four-month journey of discovery along the great river of the West, the Columbia.
From the top of Grand Coulee Dam, to the Heart of the Monster in Nez Perce country, their work revealed the river’s origins in fire and ice, the scramble to satisfy competing needs and the cost of converting this wild river into hundreds of miles of engineered slackwater.
Join us for a special evening with environment reporter Lynda Mapes, who will explore the project that brings her nearly 30-year career at The Times to a close. She’ll be joined by colleagues who will share spectacular photos, video and illustrations.
