About this Event
Come join a colour-driven photography walk through the streets of Calgary. Whether you're shooting on your phone, a DSLR, or a mirrorless camera, this is your chance to slow down, look around, and capture the colours hiding in plain sight — then share the best ones on VSCO, Instagram, or wherever you love to post.
What is a Color Hunt?
A Color Hunt is a photography scavenger hunt guided by colour. We'll walk through Calgary neighbourhoods together for about an hour, each person searching for and photographing whatever catches their eye — a red door, an orange bicycle, a patch of violet graffiti. No assignments, no pressure. Just eyes open and cameras ready.
What to expect
- ~1 hour neighbourhood walk (weather-dependent route)
- Shoot whatever colours stand out to you
- Learn to use your camera or phone settings on the go
- Meet other photographers, creatives, and curious people in Calgary
- Share your shots on VSCO, Instagram, or keep them for yourself — totally up to you

Welcome, Intros & Housekeeping
Info: Everyone gathers at the meet-up spot. Winner Brave welcomes the group and does a quick round of "what are you shooting on today?" — phones, DSLRs, mirrorless, film, all fair game. Then a 2-minute camera tips primer: one tip for phone shooters (turn off portrait mode, expose manually by tapping), one for DSLR/mirrorless users (aperture priority, watch your ISO in the shade). Housekeeping covers the neighbourhood boundary, the halfway check-in point, and the 6:30 PM return time.

Info: Everyone is assigned to groups of exactly 7 — one group per every 7 people registered. Groups form on the spot, and each person draws or is assigned their colour. Winner Brave then explains the collage project in full:
