Collegiate Shag always grabs attention on the dance floor with its fancy footwork and fun, flamboyant patterns. Danced to faster music, it's a great skill for any swing dancer.In this introductory series, youโll dive into the basics and learn enough moves to dance confidently to faster tunes and add some spark to your dancing. Weโll cover the essential footwork along with classic Collegiate Shag patterns to get you moving right away. Youโll also learn two styles โ the energetic ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐น๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ด and the more relaxed ๐ฆ๐บ๐ผ๐ผ๐๐ต ๐ฆ๐๐๐น๐ฒ (๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ด) โ so you can find the feel that suits you. Plus, youโll get footwork drills you can practice at home without a partner.
๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐พ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ/๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น: If you can lead or follow simple turns and patterns with basic footwork with complete ease in any dance genre (Swing, Ballroom, Latin, Country), you'll be just fine in this class.
