Collegiate Shag always grabs attention on the dance floor with its fancy footwork and fun, flamboyant patterns. Danced to faster music, it's a great skill for any swing dancer.In this introductory series, you’ll dive into the basics and learn enough moves to dance confidently to faster tunes and add some spark to your dancing. We’ll cover the essential footwork along with classic Collegiate Shag patterns to get you moving right away. You’ll also learn two styles — the energetic 𝗟𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗴 and the more relaxed 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 (𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗴) — so you can find the feel that suits you. Plus, you’ll get footwork drills you can practice at home without a partner.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲/𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹: If you can lead or follow simple turns and patterns with basic footwork with complete ease in any dance genre (Swing, Ballroom, Latin, Country), you'll be just fine in this class.
