What does science have to learn from DIY counterculture? Hannah Stuwe, a Ph.D. candidate in biochemistry and biophysics has the answer. Stuwe is also a working musician, community organizer and co-founder of the nonprofit Corvallis Music Collective. Drawing on her research on SARS-CoV-2 and her experience as a musician and community organizer, the event will include live music and reflections on DIY punk practices that could strengthen how science is done and shared. Expect the sounds of Stuwe’s saxophone and vocals, with other band members, to fill the space in between short talks from Stuwe. Join us for a fusion of music and science on this STEAM-powered evening and hear how science is punk!
