About this Event
Our bodies and minds are both archive and language; a reflection of our personal and collective histories, traumas, and joys. Collage becomes a tool to honor those archives layering images as we layer memory, piecing together fragments into new meaning.
Together we’ll explore themes that invite embodiment and mindfulness, creating space to sit with reflections, reconcile emotions, and imagine new possibilities. All levels and experiences are welcome. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring personal images or objects that resonate with your creative vision. Drinks and light snacks will also be provided.
Happening every Friday from 5-7pm at CASAMADRE Gallery, join us at the intersection of art, resilience, and archive—and experience the healing power of images.
Facilitator: Nia Abeni is a researcher and interdisciplinary artist who holds an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths, University of London. She has been making collages for five years with experimentation in various modes and narratives. Her work speaks from the profundity of affect theory, blackness, and somatic healing.
