Collaborative and Proactive Solutions 5 Week Skill Enhancement Training

Designed for individual clinicians, educators, and other providers working directly with challenging youth and their caregivers. Over the course of five 60-minute group teleconference sessions, participants receive coaching and feedback from certified providers in CPS to increase their skills in applying the CPS model. The first session is focused on honing skills in using the Assessment of Lagging Skills and Unsolved Problems (ALSUP). The remaining four sessions are focused on Plan B and involve having participants audiotape their use of Plan B with actual kids and their caregivers to receive explicit coaching and feedback. A recording of your Plan B attempts with KIDS will be due for each session. Registration is limited to six participants per training.

Prerequisite: Prior knowledge of the CPS model, either through attending Dr. Greene’s 2-day training or reading The Explosive Child, Lost at School, or Lost and Found. You'll also need access to a few kids and caregivers to permit practice using the model.

Supervision Sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 PM (ET, New York). The Dates are October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2024.

For Australians, the sessions will be on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Sydney time). The dates are October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, 2024

FAQs

How will I share my ALSUPs and recordings with the group leader? A Dropbox will be created that only the training group can access. Your email address will be used to invite you to join Dropbox.

When should I submit audio recordings to Dropbox? Audio recordings need to be in Dropbox at least three days before the supervision session to provide ample time for review.

How will confidentiality be maintained during the course? Before starting the course, each participant will sign a form indicating that, as with any supervision group, all information shared as part of this learning experience will be held in the strictest confidence. Audio recordings are not downloaded onto any participant's computer, nor that of the trainer's, and recordings will be deleted from the Dropbox folder once they have been reviewed. You'll want to explain how the recording will be used to the kids/families who are being recorded and possibly have them sign a consent form.

How will the sessions be conducted? They will be conducted via Zoom Video Conferencing.
