This Tuesday... Special Edition DECEMBER 10th Holiday Event!!! Be with us for this extra-festive holiday edition of Collab. We have fascinating speakers! Chef Jade is serving amazing tamales! And if you can, please bring an unwrapped toy for our children’s charity collection. Deets below. Merry Happy Holidays!What is Collab? Started in 2005, it's an art salon, a creative mixer, and a place to help figure out what you want to get up to next. Anyone is welcome, it is super easy to meet people, share ideas, get inspired, find collaborators, or get help on your project! It is a creative retreat for all of you artists, entrepreneurs, techies, makers, mad scientists, film folk, performers, investors, inventors and all around awesome creatives.
Our guest speakers are structured around an ask and give format. They are sharing their projects, their experiences, their amazing talents. And in return, they are making an ask of the community to help make their creative dreams reality.
Special Edition December: every year we do a Toy drive. Please bring an unwrapped Toy for K-5th Grade for 9th Street School Los Angeles. Half of their 300 students are unhoused or in family shelters for battered women. Geo, 9th st School program runner for their Ice Cream Social with Santa will be onsite to collect the toys! $ donations go to buying their ice cream.

Brent Bushnell- Artcade: open source arcade for learning and profit. The Artcade is a free set of files, parts lists and software to enable almost anyone to build their own arcade cabinet. Together with open spruce payment solution, the finished cabinet can then be placed Ina. Public venue like a cafe or laundromat to generate revenue. It’s a full platform for creativity, exploring the STEM/STEAM disciplines and entrepreneurship. Brent is an entrepreneur and engineer focused on experiences for entertainment and learning. He's the founder of Two Bit Circus
Richard Tucci - Threads of Imagination book talk. "Richard Tucci is an award-winning director, and prodigious producer, who is also multiracial and living with an invisible disability. Mentored by Oscar-winner Seth Winston, and mentored by director, Penny Marshall, his accolades include the DSTL Writer Development Award (2023)

So come join us. First timers, Collab vets, and everything in between. We do ask for a $5 donation at the door, but we've never turned away anyone for lack of funds. If you can't help with $5, we'd love to have you help at the door for 30 minutes or so. We typically have some box wine and snacks, but we also welcome any beverage or food you'd like to add to the mix.
