Colin Fraser LIVE Painting Demonstration

A Must See!

Experience the work of one of the world’s leading egg tempera painters! Colin Fraser has long been established as a master of the medium, and solo exhibition, "In the Moment," opens on Friday, March 27th.
Colin will return to the gallery the next day, Saturday, March 28th, for a LIVE Painting Demonstration beginning at 12 pm. This event is also free to attend, and all are welcome. Come see the artist at work and experience the beauty of egg tempera painting up close.

About Colin Fraser:

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1957, Colin Fraser is known for his luminous still life and landscape paintings, which have earned recognition across Europe and North America. After completing teacher training and studying Fine Art at Brighton Polytechnic in the late 1970s, he taught art in Worthing, England, and later in Sweden. In 1983, Fraser left teaching to devote himself fully to painting and exhibiting his work.

Although he initially worked in oils and watercolor, Fraser found that neither medium delivered the intensity and clarity of color he was seeking. He eventually turned to egg tempera—a demanding technique dating back centuries that combines pigment with egg yolk as a binder. With little contemporary instruction available, Fraser spent nearly a decade developing his own method, refining the meticulous process that now defines his work. His still life compositions are carefully arranged to create a sense of quiet atmosphere, often accompanied by titles that hint at the memories and associations behind them.

Fraser’s paintings have been exhibited widely, with shows in London, Amsterdam, New York, Toronto, and Washington. He continues to live and work in Sweden with his family, producing quietly powerful works that reflect both his technical mastery of egg tempera and his deep sensitivity to everyday subjects.
