In 1975, Gaston Rebuffat's '100 Finest Climbs in the Mont Blanc Massif' was published in English for the first time. This large format coffee table book immediately became THE book for use by alpinists who looked to the book for inspiration and climed its routes to collect 'Gaston Points'. Unlike the guidebooks of the time, it had superb photos and topos in a similar way to Ken Wilson's 'Hard Rock' and 'Classic Rock'. This talk will be a celebration of both Rebuffat's book and the routes it featured and will include photos of many of Colin's own ascents of routes from the book. The talk will be held at the Alpine Club's premises at 55 Charlotte Road, EC2A 3QF and, as always, non-members are welcome to attend.
For safety reasons, we are required to keep a register of all attendees. If you plan to attend, please complete the form here: https://forms.gle/XAT7V1zbzPEVWbw36
