About this Event
Parents for Healthy Homes, in partnership with Urban Core Collective, invites you to join us for a special COFI Orientation. This will be a space for parents, caregivers, and community members in Grand Rapids to connect, learn, and grow.
COFI, which stands for Community Organizing and Family Issues, is a nationally recognized leadership development model designed by and for parents. Through storytelling, self-reflection, and team building, COFI helps parents build confidence, understand the systems that impact our children, and take action together for long-lasting change in our homes, schools, and neighborhoods.
This Orientation is a welcoming introduction to COFI Phase 1: Self, Family, and Team. It is the first part of a powerful training series designed to help parents and caregivers lead in their lives and communities.
During the Orientation, you’ll:
- Learn more about what COFI is and how it works
- Hear from local parents and caregivers who’ve stepped into leadership through COFI
- Find out what the 8-week COFI workshop series will include
- Get your questions answered
- Discover how to sign up or stay connected for future opportunities
- Meet people who care about the same things you do
This event is open to those who are curious or ready to commit to the COFI workshop series.
