Understanding Wisconsin’s Updated Commercial Building Code: What You Need to Know

After years of collaboration with professionals across the building industry, Wisconsin’s Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) has officially adopted the 2021 International Code Council (ICC) standards as the model for its updated commercial building code.

Join the experts from EUA, as they break down the most relevant changes and what they mean for commercial building projects—both new construction and renovations. The session will also revisit key legacy code items that continue to influence project design and execution.

Topics Covered:

· International Building Code (IBC)
· International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)
· International Existing Building Code (IEBC)
· Accessibility Standards

Presenters from EUA:

· Nicholas Gates, Senior Project Architect – Specializing in code compliance for healthcare facilities, Nick is experienced in the various activities and phases of delivering a building – from conceptual design to the preparation of construction documents.

· Dave Hubka, Practice Leader – Sustainability – Dave actively leads and advances EUA’s sustainability initiatives. With over 25 years of experience in the architecture and engineering industry, he is a globally recognized expert in sustainable building practices.

· Nick Wergin, Project Architect – Nick specializes in BIM software and implements projects through design and construction documents in EUA’s Workplace Studio.

Whether you’re a developer, building owner, end user, or design professional, this presentation will provide valuable insights to help you navigate the evolving regulatory landscape with confidence.
