The Evolution of Texture
The three most important parts of your project’s look are Color, Contrast, and Texture. In the origin of motion pictures, texture was a direct result of the tools at our disposal- how light affected the film strip. But over the last three decades, filmmaking has evolved from an analog and chemical process to one in which cameras, finishing, and projection are frequently all digital. In this presentation we’ll examine how that has affected the look of movies, what trends have taken place, and whether texture is still an important part of the final look.
