About this Event
Join us for a relaxed afternoon of coffee, cake and crafting in the wonderful setting of the Cornerstone Cafe in Chelmsford.
The whole purpose of Crafternoon is to give you a little 'me time'. It's a chance to sit down and explore your crafty side in great company, with cake. What more could you want!
You can bring along something you're already working on, or I'll bring along some supplies and you can see what inspires you on the day. And if you want to just come for the company without doing any craft, that's fine too.
And if you fancy something a little more structured, there will also be felting workshop, taught by the marvellous Karen French. Details will be announced soon.
Hot drinks and cake are included in the cost of your ticket!
Please note: The hot drinks are in a self-service drink station, not made to order by a barista. If you have any dietary requirements, please indicate this when you book your ticket.
Felted flower workshop
Make your own ever-lasting flowers!
Karen French, multi-talented textile artist and experienced teacher, will be leading a class on making felted 3D flowers using a technique called wet-felting. It's a wonderfully creative craft, and once you've got the hang of the skill, all you need is bubble wrap, a tea towel, dishwashing soap and some wool to do it yourself at home.
Swipe at the top of the event page to see more photos!
All materials provided.
Please note: Due to the layout of the space where the workshop will take place, places are strictly limited to 8.
The workshop will start promptly at 1.30 to make sure you can finish on time.
Pricing
A limited number of discounted earlybird tickets is available, which are £5 cheaper than the standard ticket. The earlybird period will end when either the earlybird tickets run out or on 31 May, whichever comes sooner. The earlybird ticket discounts applies to attendance only. The felting workshop price is same whether you book an earlybird ticket or a standard on.
If there are any spaces available on the day, it may be possible to buy a ticket on the door, subject to a £5 surcharge. On the door tickets are not guaranteed to be available.
About the venue
Cornerstone is a wonderful, welcoming venue with a vital role in the community, which you can read about on their website. They aren't normally open on a Sunday, so we will have exclusive use of the space throughout the event. There is a very limited amount of parking on Wicks Place and Rainsford Road immediately outside the venue, and there is usually room for drop offs if you have limited mobility. Otherwise the closest car parks are Fairfield Road (behind Chelmsford Theatre), which is just round the corner, or the West End car park on Railway Street.
Please note that this is an adult-only event.
Please only book tickets for people aged 18 or over. No refunds will be issued on the day if you book a ticket for someone under 18 and have to be turned away.
