Monthly drop-in resource event in the Van Deusen Room, on the third floor of Central library in downtown Kalamazoo. A light continental breakfast is provided. In the past, this has included Sweetwater's coffee, Sweetwater's donut holes, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), squeezable yogurt, GoGo squeeZ® applesauce pouches, KIND Breakfast Bars, granola bars, Honest Kids juice boxes, water flavor packets, hot water, instant oatmeal packets, and tea bags.In addition, a variety of single use hygiene items are offered, like body wash, shampoo, and deodorant. Surplus library SWAG is sometimes also available, including KPL baseball caps, KPL canvass tote bags, KPL 150 years metal water bottles, and unclaimed prizes from the Summer Reading Challenge, like beach towels. In the back of the room, there's a variety of donated clothing and a social service organization or two tabling (e.g. health care signup, Kalamazoo County ID card). The social service organizations are different every month and include the League of Women Voters during election seasons, offering voter registration.
Coffee and Connections is now held on the last Wednesday of the month. It had previously been held on last Mondays.
