Global Big Data Conference is organizing half day Virtual Workshop (4hrs) on Nov 22nd 2024 - Using Codeium - a free Gen AI Coding and Chat alternative to GitHub Copilot (half-day)

Codeium is a free alternative to GitHub Copilot to help developers write code more efficiently and faster. It also provides a coding-context chat interface to allow for more direct queries and more substantial knowledge sharing. This half-day course will provide you with a solid understanding of the tool's capabilities and how to use it effectively in your day-to-day coding.

In this half-day, hands-on workshop, we'll cover the basics of Codeium through explanations, visuals, and hands-on experience working with the tool in labs. You'll learn the what, why, and how of Codeium and see how to leverage its generative AI functionality in daily coding tasks across multiple languages. You'll learn techniques and some best practices for working with with Codeium. And you'll learn what differentiates Codeium from GitHub Copilot.

This section will introduce Codeium and discuss what it is, how it works, and why it is useful. Topics covered will include

The benefits of using Codeium for code generation and completion

Basic Codeium usage

This section will help participantsget comfortable and familiar with navigating suggestions from the tool and utilizing some key features of Codeium with its Chat functionality. Topics covered will include
