The Columbus Ohio Discovery Ensemble (CODE) returns for their 11th performance on the “New Music at Short North Stage” concert series sponsored by the Johnstone Fund for New Music. Their “Crosswinds” show celebrates Ohio creativity featuring composers that live in or have studied in Ohio. This event will feature two exciting world premieres and two revisited works. Thomas Wells' music often explores juxtapositions of textural intrigue and sublime gestures. Jeffrey Mumford crafts nuanced sound worlds of beautiful abstractions. The music of Vera Stanojevic taps into weaving interplay of timbre, lyricism, and drama. Jamie Leigh Sampson creates dramatic and exciting sonic narratives.PROGRAM
