Participatory Design for Just and Liberatory Futures
Woodlands Community Trust | Friday May 8

Part of the , May 7-10, 2026.

This event is open to BIPOC only.

Creatives of Colour Festival presents a creative design workshop with Hanieh Khosroshahi.

This interactive, 90 minute workshop will introduce creatives of colour to participatory design tools, methods, and mindsets that centre care, liberation, and lived experience.
Through collective visioning, letter writing, and codesign, participants will create bold, radical visions for justice-centred futures, highlighting alternative ways of being and doing that are necessary to birth a new world.

Hanieh Khosroshahi is a design consultant, researcher, and community organiser working in pursuit of people and the planet. She designs products, services, programs, and experiences using participatory, feminist, and liberatory methods, centering care, lived experience, and codesign to imagine and build just futures. She is also the co-founder of Thousand&One, a global, feminist community that supports Women of Colour to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Creatives of Colour Festival

The festival centers the voices, experiences, and creativity of people of colour in Glasgow. Storytelling sits at the heart of these creative practices, and celebrates the resilience, joy, and talent of PoC artists. Curated by Zahra Khosroshahi and Kevin Leomo.

Our stories. Our lens. Our terms.

The Festival is supported by ‘Thinking Culture’, a cultural programme from the School of Culture & Creative Arts and the Ferguson Bequest, University of Glasgow.
