About this Event
Our Photography Meetups have returned after a short break! Join us for a Saturday evening stroll along the coastline with our cameras.
This will be a casual, friendly meet-up open to all to encourage more people to have a go at photography, learn about nature, and build a community of photographers and nature enthusiasts!
We see a range of species at Greyhope Bay, which you may be lucky enough to see, including; bottlenose dolphins, seals, razorbills, gannets, eider ducks, oystercatchers, plovers, shags, divers, and more. You can see a list of reported bird species in the area on eBird.
You do not need a "professional" camera to attend; the best camera is the camera you have. In fact, the cover of our 2024 Greyhope Bay calendar was taken on a smartphone!
This event is suitable for children aged 5+. All children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Mount at Greyhope Bay will be open 10:00 - 16:00 serving refreshments. Therefore, the cafe will not be open before the meetup begins, so bear that in mind if you think you'll want a drink to take on the walk.
What to bring:
Please wear study, enclosed footwear and dress appropriately for the weather.
You may also want to bring:
- A camera (you don't have to - you're very welcome to just spend a couple of hours enjoying nature).
- Binoculars.
- Snacks & drinks. (The cafe, Mount by the Sea, in the Greyhope Bay Centre is open 10 - 4, so you may wish to bring things from home if you will be arriving after 4pm.)
If you have any further questions, please get in touch [email protected].
Please note: Due winter storms, beach access has become eroded which means that if you walk onto the beach, you will have to walk on rocky, uneven ground.
